Hardcover, no dust jacket, 436 pages, more than 190 sporting goods manufacturers and 370 sporting products listed. Hundreds of photographs, illustrations, and advertisements for major, professional, and minor sports activities. A few pages are multicolored; no color photographs. The Cyclopedia sections include World Records for many sports, stats for the 1928 World Series, Game Laws and Rules for sports from Archery to Wrestling. This book provides a detailed look at the world of sports from 95 years ago. The interior is excellent: pages are clean and bright, with no damage, discoloration, writing or odor. The exterior is good minus: the red cloth covers and spine show no fading or discoloration, with no wear other than at corners and top and bottom of spine; gilt on front looks quite good; gilt on spine is readable; front and rear boards are a bit loose but in no danger of separating; otherwise, binding is strong but cocked. Overall this is a nice copy of a hard-to-find sports book.
